India Sep 25th 2013(Sailesh Gandhi): Sane Care and Madhavbaug clinics is a renowned name in Ayurvedic fraternity spread across the breadth and length of Ayurveda with cardiac center, Ayurvedic Clinics, Herbal Plantation Projects, and Ayurvedic Publishing House and Madhavbaug Trust. Currently, Madhavbaug has close to 165 clinics spread across Maharashtra, Goa, Indore and also at London as well. The group is expanding rapidly and in order to meet the in house demands of good therapists, has launched an Educational Institute under the banner of Madhavbaug Institute of Medical Education and Research (MIMER) (www.mimer.co.in).
Madhavbaug Institute of Medical Education and Research has recently launched a course “Diploma in Panchkarma Assistant and Nursing” which any undergraduate can also enroll in this and can definitely look at as a career for income. Even this is a good course for housewives as well who are looking at some employment.
Started by the reputed Madhavbaug Institute of Medical Education and Research (MIMER) (www.mimer.co.in) the course offers theoretical and practical training of Panchkarma treatments. It helps one to understand different Panchkarma treatments like Vaman, Virechan, Raktamokshan, Nasya and Basti, method of treatment administration and Bastis, Dravya used in treatment, preparation of kadhas and other medications, massage, shirodhara etc along with the art of patient management and communication with them.
Says Dr Rohit Sane, Chairman, Sane Care Group and Director, Madhavbaug Institute of Medical Education and Research, “the demand of Panchkarma therapist is on the rise and with more and more people trusting Ayurveda form of treatment, more therapists are required. There are good employment opportunities for housewives and undergraduate students.”
As an ancient form of treatment, Ayurveda is also known as the ‘Science of Life.’ It is perhaps the only path which treats the disease from its root cause and was the secret behind the longevity of our ancestors. The treatments described in Ayurveda are based on Panchmahabut meaning five principles and hence are called as ‘Panchkarma’.
Says Dr Sane, “the younger generation of today wants to know more about Ayurveda and learn about its various benefits. The students who are willing to go for graduation in medical field are opting for Ayurveda now days by choice. Through this diploma course we want to create awareness amongst the common people about Ayurveda and effectiveness of Panchkarma treatment; and help people to create their earnings.”
In a scenario where high potential medical graduates are often found to have low practical application skills, MIMER shall provide the training to play developmental roles right from the time they enter into professional life. In effect, MIMER is modeled as medical finishing school where raw talent is shaped, guided and polished to emerge stellar players in the knowledge-based world. MIMER is the place to shine and Diploma in Preventive Cardiology and Panchkarma in Ayurveda offered is like the proverbial 'Diamond Cutter' as even a Diamond Needs Polishing To Reveal It's Inner Brilliance!!
MIMER perhaps is the only training institute for graduates and post graduates in medical fraternity which serves as a 'Complete Guide' to establish a successful career in 'Preventive Cardiology' as well in setting up their own practices and clinics. We at MIMER offer various job and career oriented courses for Doctor's and Common citizens.
Dr Rohit Sane further said “There is a huge demand for therapist in India and abroad too.About 2000 BAMS doctors pass out every year in Maharashtra alone. At present about 10,000 ayurvedic doctors must be practicing this ancient science. Panchakarma is an integral part of Ayurveda. Every single set-up requires atleast two therapists – one male and one female. Thus about 20,000 therapist are needed in Maharashtra alone. Given the increasing trend of Ayurveda practicing doctors the demand for Panchkarma therapists will increase in future”.
Says Dr Rohit Sane, “at present there is no formal education for these therapists. Lack of formal education reduces the quality of therapy. Kerala government runs a formal course for such therapists. Thus ayurveda is prospering in south and attracting foreign patients for the therapies. While the demand for these well trained and groomed therapists is very high the supply is far too less. An average trained therapist can earn about Rs 7,000 pm.”
The economic slowdown of the Indian economy has resulted in workforce in several industries losing their jobs and the only source of livelihood with companies downsizing operations & cutting costs. People and even housewives are compelled to look out for alternative sources of income to meet their current and future consumption needs and this course can be an ideal option for those who are looking at making it as a career and for generating some good income for their family.
Ayurveda is also well accepted and recognised in many countries like Dubai and Sri Lanka. Countries in Europe also need such therapists in their spas.
