Mumbai Sep 23rd 2013(Sailesh Gandhi): Oxfam India today announced registrations open for the third Indian edition of Oxfam India Trailwalker. This team building challenge will be held from November 15 to 17, 2013 on a trail passing through the lush green Sahyadri ranges starting from Garudmaachi near Pune, looping around the Mulshi lake and traversing through the Western Ghats culminating in Lonavala. The greenery, the flora and fauna, the fresh air and the clear blue skies along this trail are simply a visual delight and offer many photographic opportunities as one passes through a variety of landscapes like forests, scrub lands, lakes, hills, farm lands, rivulets etc.

The 100 km trail has a start point, nine check points and a finish point. During the event, each team usually has a support crew to cheer them up and support them with their requirements of food, water, medical facilities and any other support.
Oxfam India Trailwalker is a fundraising event that invites teams of four to get together and undertake the challenge to walk or run 100 kms within 48 hours. Registrations are now open on the website, http://trailwalker.oxfamindia.org/mumbai. Each team needs to sign up with a registration fee of Rs. 4000/- per participant. The teams dedicate themselves to fundraise for Oxfam India and undertake a target of raising Rs. 50,000 from friends, associates and family. Oxfam India Trailwalker, Mumbai, is aiming at raising Rs. 2.5 Crore from this event.
Announcing the Mumbai edition of Trailwalker 2013, Ms. Nisha Agrawal, CEO, Oxfam India said “It gives me great pleasure to bring Oxfam India Trailwalker to Mumbai and Pune this year. I invite enthusiastic Mumbaikars and Punekars to take up this exciting 100 km challenge and raise funds to ensure the right to life with dignity for all. Oxfam Trailwalker is the flagship fundraising event for 11 Oxfams across the globe. It is considered the greatest team Challenge requiring physical endurance, mental strength and team spirit. The funds raised are utilized in projects which work towards fighting poverty and injustice. 164 teams participated in the second edition of Oxfam India Traiwalker, Bangalore and raised over INR 2.5 crores.
