~ Beam Inc. bags five awards at the Australian Drinks Awards 2013 ~
Mumbai16 Sep 2013(Sailesh Gandhi): Continuing to create famous brands, Beam Inc, the fourth largest spirits company in the world, stole the show at Australian Drinks Awards 2013 winning five awards for its cult brands Jim Beam & Canadian Club; including the biggest– ‘Brand of the Year’ by the flagship brand Jim Beam.
The Australian Drinks Awards are the industry awards of excellence, celebrating with professionalism and pride the people, the brands and the industry. The event witnessed over 9000 consumers and a panel of industry experts who recognised Jim Beam as their Most Loved Brand and Brand of the Year in all alcohol categories.
Canadian Club also won the Best Advertising/Marketing Campaign of the year for an RTD with the Canadian Club Beer Fairies Campaign as well as the Best Contribution to RTD Category Growth.
The awards were opt in and the brands were entered into award categories of Most Loved Brand, Best Innovation & Best Advertising/Marketing Campaign. Brands were judged by an industry panel and jury, utilising a point scoring system measuring all relevant metrics to a particular award. 75 finalists covering all categories of beer, wine, spirits and cider were then referred to a consumer panel using the same scoring metric to determine the winners

The Best Contribution to Category Growth Award was determined from Nielsen Retail Scan Data based on the brand’s absolute volume growth from Jan 1, 2012 to Mar 31, 2013 versus the previous 15 months within the respective category.
All brands were assessed firstly within their own category and then against all categories, with category winners determined for all award types. The awards were determined for the overall best scoring brand from all categories within an award type – The best of the best! The Brand of Year is the brand scoring the highest score overall covering all award types and Jim Beam shook the house with this win.
