Excel Entertainment Announces JV with Dubai-based Riva Group of Companies

·       Excel Media Promises World-Class Television, Web and Gaming Content

·       Farhan Akhtar, Ritesh Sidhwani and Riva Group of Companies Chairman Paul Roy launch Company at a Star-Studded Event

 

 

Dubai, United Arab Emirates Oct 12th 2013(Sailesh Gandhi): Excel Entertainment, the renowned film production house, has formed a joint venture with the Dubai based Riva Group, it was announced today.

Farhan Akhtar, Ritesh Sidhwani and Riva Group Chairman Paul Roy have collaborated to form Excel Media, a company dedicated to the creation of world-class original content across multiple platforms from television and web to gaming. Excel Entertainment’s existing media library will also be exploited across various digital media.

They were on hand to launch the company’s first Mobile Game Fukrey: Rooftop Runner at a star-studded event in Mumbai this afternoon that was attended by the stars of the movie including Pulkit Samrat who plays the lead character Hunny, Varun Sharma who plays Choocha, Manjot Singh who plays Lali , Ali Fazal who plays Zafar and Richa Chadda who plays Bholi Punjaban.

 

Based on this summer’s light comedy and sleeper hit, Fukrey: Rooftop Runner is an action/adventure game that depicts the misadventures of four slackers (“Fukrey”) willing to get their hands on big money to achieve their dreams. Keeping the irreverent and quirky tone of the movie, the objective as a player is to collect as many Rupex as possible.

Attendees were also given a sneak preview of another soon to be released original title called, “Feed the Sparrows” which has been conceptualized by Farhan Akhtar.

 “We are excited at the prospect of expanding our global reach with this collaboration with Excel Entertainment, which is in my opinion the best film studio in India. We look forward to working with them and using our in-house knowledge and expertise to create ground-breaking content” said Paul Roy.
