MumbaiOct 2nd 2013(Eddie Patel): Style & Beauty Diva Karishma is an inspiration for several young women who need to reinvent themselves as they go from stage to stage in their lives. Even as her life has changed track, new experiences coming her way, Karishma seems to be getting more beautiful with every passing year. 'My style has evolved over the years
. When I started working, we had to go by whatever the producer or director told us. There were no stylists. But over the years, I developed my own style in the industry and now, even when I have not done a film for some years, people still talk about my fashion sense. The biggest compliment to me now is that people love my personal sense of style,' she says.
She attributes her beauty to a healthy lifestyle. 'I do not believe in dieting or starving myself, eating only green leaves and surviving on water. During both my pregnancies, I put on 22 to 23 kilos. I did not deprive myself. I love pizza, biryani, cupcakes. But everything within limits,' she reveals. She follows the same yardstick for her children. 'No aerated drinks. No fried foods. I indulge them once a week with their favourite "unhealthy" foods, but they eat healthy the rest of the time. They love cupcakes and when I want to indulge them, cupcakes it is,' says the young mother.
But what about the much-hyped size zero phase that became a national obsession because of her sister Kareena. Kareena did that as a task, almost as a mission, to prove to herself that she could lose the baby fat. She was also doing it for a particular role. But she also did not starve herself for it. We heard all kinds of stories about her fainting on set and all, but that was not true. Both of us eat healthy and do yoga. We share diet and yoga tips,' says Karishma .
Karishma 's basic beauty secret is simple. 'Yoga and lots of water,' she reveals. While yoga is great for the body and the mind; water is the all-in-one formula for skin health. And contrary to popular perception, Karishma uses minimal makeup when not working. Kajal is the only piece of makeup that I cannot do without. I believe in the "less is more" philosophy when it comes to make-up. In fact, I would advice all women to be very choosy when it comes to cosmetics.
