SAVE THE HELPLESS ANIMALS OF MUMBAI
Mumbai Oct 2nd 2013(Eddie Patel): On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, when the father of our nation was born and spoke the words -“The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated", World for All (WFA), a one-of-its-kind animal welfare NGO came together with People for Animals (PFA) Maneka Gandhi's animal welfare organization to host a unique Adoption Camp to help 35 little puppies and kittens get off the streets into well deserving, forever homes. Following the grand success of its previous adoption camps, this camp too proved to be an enormous success by saving 22 more lives! All the kittens and puppies present at the camp were healthy and vaccinated.
President and Co-Founder, World for All, Ruchi Nadkarni said, "First of all, we must celebrate the 22 happy tails of success thanks to the kind families who made their way to the venue to take home new family members! It was a wonderful holiday that was indeed well spent. We not only had people adopting, we had people interested in volunteering and fostering animals too.We need all the support we can get. With the support of the media the camp was written about by several newspapers prior to the event which drew in a lot of interest. Enthusiastic volunteers ensured that everything at the event went off smoothly."
In addition to the adoptions, a total on 13 animals were placed in foster homes, she said. Homeless animals need safe and loving homes.
The highlight of the event was a sweet little 3 month old puppy who was abandoned in a flower pot at a vet's clinic in South Mumbai. Named Flower Pot, this little girl caught the attention of a young couple from Andheri who decided to take her home immediately. Flower Pot has been renamed Muffin and it's very clear that her new mommy will love her forever!
Likewise, a little kitten named Joey was rescued from a garbage dump just three weeks before and found his way into the home and heart of the loving family of Rajiv Pillai from Mulund.
An adopter of a pair of lovely kittens named Batman and Pudges said, "We would like to thank WFA and PFA for all their help and support - they really helped us complete our family!"
