National level App Development Competition
Mumbai Sep 19th 2013(Sailesh Gandhi): Aptech Computer Education, the flagship brand of Global Learning Solutions major – Aptech Limited, in association with Microsoft, today announced ‘Power Your Future’, a National level App development competition to unearth the creative potential of students across India. The competition is organized with an aim to identify, train and certify 25,000 students for next generation technologies by May 2014.
Through this event, Aptech intends to reach out to more than 1, 00,000 students from over seven hundred educational institutions in next twelve months. Aptech last year launched comprehensive training programs in App development for Window 8 platform and since then, more than one thousand apps have been developed and uploaded in the Windows App Store by Aptech students and trainers.
Participating in the competition will help students leverage the Microsoft platform, Learning, Tools and Technologies and develop Apps for the Windows 8™ and Windows Phone™ platforms. Students could also become a part of Windows App Builders Club and publish their Apps on Windows App Store. Further, working on Cloud computing projects will help them prepare for a career in Information Technology, mapped to emerging Cloud technologies and job requirements.
Students from schools and colleges would be identified through aptitude tests and then trained and mentored by Aptech and Microsoft to develop socially relevant Apps. These students would then compete at various levels enhancing their knowledge and skills by showcasing their creative ideas, development capabilities by competing at District, State and Zonal levels before reaching the National level competition on 23rd May, 2014. Shortlisted students will qualify for the finale based on quality and ranking of their Apps. The winner would be awarded with a scholarship of Rs. 1, 00,000 from Aptech. To encourage maximum participation, wild card entries would be allowed at all levels of the competition and various exciting gifts and prizes will be awarded to the participants.
